WINNIPEG, Manitoba - March 22, 2019 - Winnipeg Richardson International Airport is reminding passengers to have a flight plan for a carefree start to their spring break travel. Spring break in Manitoba runs Monday, March 25 to Friday, March 29 and is one of the busiest times of the year at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.

The airport expects to see an additional 10,000 travellers over the week. Monday will be the busiest day of the week, with an expected 15,000 travellers through the airport.

Winnipeg Richardson International Airport and its partners are working to add staff to key areas during peak times.

The airport is offering the following tips:

  • Give yourself extra time to cope with longer lines at peak times.
  • If parking at the airport, reserve your parking ahead of time on WAA.ca.
  • CATSA's "Breeze through security" app helps you get prepared for Canadian airport security screening. The app can help you create a travel checklist, ensure your items are allowed in carry-on or checked baggage, and more. Available on the App Store and Google Play.
  • CBSA's "CanBorder - eDeclaration" app allows you to quickly and securely create a declaration for up to five travellers when arriving in Canada, and can reduce your time at a Primary Inspection Kiosk by up to 50%. Available on the App Store, Google Play and BlackBerry World.

Travellers are encouraged to connect with @YWGairport on Twitter for additional travel updates.
