WHILL

WHILL’s autonomous wheelchairs allow travellers who require them to easily move from the airline check-in counters, through security, and to their departure gate at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.

To further solidify a commitment to doing everything possible to create a seamless and enjoyable experience for all travellers, Winnipeg Richardson International Airport has partnered with WHILL Inc. and Scootaround Personal Transportation Solutions to implement self-driving wheelchairs as a fully available service in the terminal.

On top of improving service for passengers, the autonomous mobility devices also allow for more independence and the ability to travel more freely throughout the airport.

Winnipeg Richardson International Airport began to work with WHILL and Scootaround in 2019 as the first airport in North America to trial the autonomous mobility devices and is now the first location in the continent to implement this ground-breaking technology as a full-time service.

Travellers can request a self-driving wheelchair when checking in at their airline’s counter or by visiting the WHILL station on the Departures Level, near the domestic and international oversized baggage drop.
