Pick-up and drop-off areas

Accessible pick-up and drop-off areas are located along the median on Arrivals Level 1 and curbside on Departures Level 2 of the terminal. The designated spots are indicated by the International Symbol of Access.

These are loading zones only and no waiting is permitted. To help keep the designated spots available, please use them for quick drop-offs and pick-ups only.

Curbside assistance

Travellers with a disability or reduced mobility can request curbside assistance by touching the screen of one of the digital accessibility kiosks located in the Departures Level drop-off area or by calling 204-987-9798. A representative will be dispatched within five minutes to meet you at the curb and help you to the check-in counter for your airline. Assistance from the Arrivals Hall to the curbside pick-up area can also be requested through the phone number provided above.

Accessible parking

All YWG parking lots offer accessible stalls for use by permit holders.

The closest accessible parking to the terminal is located in the Parkade on Level 3. From there, a covered walkway leads to Departures Level 2 of the terminal. This is the only direct connection to the airline check-in area.

The Economy Lot provides the nearest low-price parking. The surface lot is located behind the Parkade, a further distance from the terminal.

Ground transportation

At Winnipeg Richardson International Airport, all transportation providers offer accessible travel accommodations and vehicles capable of carrying a variety of mobility devices to meet your needs. Service animals are welcome to ride in any vehicle without pre-arrangement.

Rent an accessible vehicle

Request a wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV)

Winnipeg WAV is a safe and efficient vehicle-for-hire service for passengers requiring a wheelchair-accessible vehicle on demand. All Winnipeg WAV vehicles can carry collapsible and non-collapsible mobility devices. Service is provided by taxi and personal transportation provider companies licensed by the City of Winnipeg.
