WINNIPEG, Manitoba - March 2, 2020 - Winnipeg Richardson International Airport continues to drive growth in the local economy by helping to create more than 1,100 new jobs over the last three years according to a new study prepared by InterVISTAS Consulting Inc.

The 24-7 operation of the airport supported 18,500 jobs last year compared to 17,310 in 2016. This helped generate an additional $1 billion in economic impact for the community. Winnipeg Richardson International Airport was responsible for a total of $4.32 billion in economic output last year - up from $3.37 billion in 2016. The airport also contributed $2.06 billion in total gross domestic product to the economy.
