Manitobans will soon have even more ways to explore the East Coast — and connect with friends, family, and opportunity across the country.
We’re excited to share that WestJet is launching new non-stop service from Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG) to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, and expanding its existing service to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Starting this summer, travellers will be able to enjoy greater convenience, more flexibility, and better access to Atlantic Canada’s vibrant communities and stunning landscapes.
Halifax: 10x weekly
St. John’s: 2x weekly
These additional flights are about more than just getting from Point A to Point B. They’re about strengthening connections between Canadians — supporting tourism, trade, and reunions with loved ones.
"At Winnipeg Airports Authority, we’re focused on connecting our community to more of the places that matter most," said Nick Hays, President and CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority. "WestJet’s expanded service to Halifax and new route to St. John’s are powerful additions that will help bring families together, open doors for business and tourism, and strengthen the ties that connect Canadians from coast to coast."
As Manitoba’s international gateway, YWG is proud to work with WestJet and other airline partners to expand connectivity and create meaningful travel opportunities for the community we serve.
