This National Aviation Day, we’re excited to share that YWG welcomed 4.3 million passengers through the terminal in 2024—the highest amount in the last 5 years! With 42 direct destinations, 9 airline partners and increased service of popular routes, YWG is gaining momentum and is anticipating even more growth in 2025.
Construction of WAA’s Multi-Tenant Air Cargo Logistics Facility is well underway, and development of the West Campus has begun, showing our commitment to investing in infrastructure that will help serve the area’s growing commercial activity. Our location at the hub of international trading corridors provides endless opportunities for economic advancement, connecting local businesses with major markets worldwide. We’re proud to play our part in advancing Canada’s vibrant aviation industry.
2024 Highlights
- United Airlines returned with daily, non-stop service to Chicago and Denver
- WestJet added year-round, daily service to Montreal, as well as increased, daily, year-round service to Ottawa
- WestJet introduced an exclusive new non-stop route from Winnipeg to Nashville and seasonal service to Los Cabos
- Porter began daily non-stop service to Ottawa
- Delta increased service to Minneapolis
- Completed the Runway 18/36 Rehabilitation Project
- Revealed the iconic YWG installation in Arrivals
- Development of CentrePort South, which includes WAA’s West Campus, began
- YWG Goldwings completed 6,093 volunteer hours
- Expanded our Accessibility program to include hearing loops in the Departures and Arrivals areas of the terminal
- Achieved the highest level of the Airports Council Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation Program
- Our partnership with St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program grew to include 306 visits
- Jenna Rae Cake’s opened to give travellers a taste of local baked goods
- Stella’s Restaurant and Café returned to its original location in Departures
- Third + Bird opened its first standalone retail store in the terminal
- Our Passenger Experience team surprised passengers with 17 pop-up events
