Third + Bird joins the fleet at YWG with its first retail location! It takes over the former Bentley space next to Gate 7, showcasing a beautifully curated selection of local and Canadian-made goods. The space features all the charm and whimsy associated with its popular markets—and even includes a stunning preserved floral installation framing its iconic selfie mirror.
"We've heard from travellers that they want more local shopping options in the airport, so we’re really excited to welcome Third + Bird’s first brick-and-mortar store to the terminal," said Scott Marohn, Vice-President, Commercial, for Winnipeg Airports Authority.
Owners Chandra and Derek Kremski areexcited to embark on this new adventure together.
"After 16 years of hosting Manitoba’s largest urban market, I’m thrilled to be opening up a store with my husband Derek at the airport, spotlighting incredible makers and small businesses,"said Chandra. "They are the heartbeat of this province, and it’s an honour to give travellers from all over the world the opportunity to take the best of Manitoba home with them."
From its humble beginnings in 2009 as a Christmas craft sale to showcase the best makers in Winnipeg to raise money for inner-city art programs and the Nepali Women’s Co-op, Third + Bird has grown to be wildly successful in the Prairies and a trailblazer of the Shop Local movement.
"All the staff at the WAA have been incredible. They have gone above and beyond to help us get the store up and running," said Chandra. "We have been surrounded by the most supportive people who are just as excited as we are to bring a taste of Manitoba to the airport."

Third + Bird is open this week from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Starting next week, they will be open from 5:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.
