Travellers 12 years of age plus four months or older planning to fly out of Winnipeg Richardson International Airport must be able to provide proof of vaccination documentation for travel as mandated by the Government of Canada.
Background
Essential information for travellers
- The proof of vaccination document for travel must include the following information:
- your name
- the name of the government/non-government entity (ex. health authority)
- the brand of the vaccines you received
- the dates you received them
- The Government of Manitoba made available the pan-Canadian Proof of Vaccination Credential on their website. Those who are already fully vaccinated can log into their account and request the pan-Canadian Proof of Vaccination Credential before they travel by visiting https://immunizationcard.Manitoba.ca. If you are not from Manitoba, please visit the Government of Canada’s website to obtain your proof of vaccination from your province or territory.
- Another available option is to obtain a proof of vaccination record from a Manitoba public health authority, ensuring it contains all the required information outlined above.
- Travellers should arrive at the airport with a printed or electronic version of their proper proof of vaccination to ensure they are able to provide it upon request.
- Airlines are verifying proof of vaccination for travellers.
Additional helpful details
The Manitoba Immunization Card or QR code that many community members currently have is still suggested to be used to access services within the province but the pan-Canadian PVC is to be used for domestic and international travel.
As rules, requirements and protocols may change, we recommend you continue to review the latest travel updates, including up to 72 hours before your flight and contact your airline to ensure you have the proper documentation for your trip.
